$ 10 lunch at Anthony’s Runway 84

I recently had lunch at Anthony’s Runway 84 in Fort Lauderdale and reviewed this $ 10 deal. I invited a girlfriend to lunch with me and she helped me on this mission of measuring the $ 10 truth and comfort level at Anthony’s Runway 84 for two women they will have lunch.

I’m here to tell you that the $ 10 lunch is alive, well, and full. We had Anthony’s Italian salad, it was big enough to split and two hearty plates of endive and beans. The salad was fresh, crisp, and cold, exactly how a salad should be. It was vibrant in color and flavor with all the veggies scattered throughout the oversized plate. Endive and Bean Soup is thick, rich, and full of flavor. It is made to order. There is no soup kettle in the kitchen to keep this hearty broth hot and ready to serve, so it took the chef about ten minutes to make the soup. While we waited for our food we chatted and enjoyed all the atmosphere that “Runway” has to offer. There was a constant stream of people coming in for lunch, men, women, groups. It seems like Anthony’s Runway 84 is the new lunch spot in Fort Lauderdale, it’s a refreshing change from downtown. I saw that many main dishes were served, as well as the lighter side of the menu, both in the bar and in the dining room. There were quite a few people working their lunch with files and laptops scattered around their tables; It seemed like the laptop was the new food side dish.

My friend and I were very comfortable sitting there. The server was charming, personable, and attentive. Anthony Bruno himself was there keeping a cool but watchful gaze over his domain. He visited our table “checking on the ladies” he asked us how everything was and if we would like anything else. He told us about meatballs and martinis on Thursday nights and invited us to come. When he got up from the table, I told my friend how “obedient” it is for a restaurant owner that has been around for twenty-some years to continue to “work” in the room like Anthony Bruno that day. You would think that now he would be resting on his laurels simply “letting it all happen” and clearly he is not. The man is a kind of “silent icon” in the restaurant business, he is not flashy, he is not hungry for press, he just calmly moves step by step towards the bigger and better.

There are great value lunch items for $ 10 at Anthony’s Runway 84, in addition to the Italian salad and endive and beans we had. Next time you’re probably going to try Anthony’s Burger or Peppers and Eggs Panini, they looked great as they were served next door. So yeah, whatever your fancy, be it soup and salad or a burger or entrĂ©e, a delicious and comfortable lunch is always served at Anthony’s Runway 84 in Fort Lauderdale.
