Golf Fitness Workouts: It’s Never Too Late

Is it ever too late for golf fitness workouts? Many senior golfers would not resist the temptation to skip golf fitness training, using their age as an excuse. And at first glance age would seem to be a real excuse to avoid them.

After all, golf fitness workouts, as most people seem to believe, are supposed to be very strenuous programs that even use dumb weights.

So how do you know you’re too old for golf fitness workouts?

The answer to that question is really simple. If you’re too old to play golf, then you’re probably too old for golf practice.

I regularly work with golfers in their 80s who are comfortably doing golf fitness exercises, weights and all. It’s probably also appropriate to add here at this point that I also regularly work with young people just in their teens.

Both groups of people can dramatically improve their game with the help of golf training.

Golf fitness workouts are no more rigorous or tough than the game of golf. Remember that the exercises are golf-specific, meaning they are specifically designed to help strengthen and condition the muscles used in golf.

It is definitely not a boxing or bodybuilding physical training. The workouts for those sports reflect the rigorous and physically demanding aspects of those sports. In the same way that golf fitness workouts reflect the requirements of the game of golf.

Dumbbells are generally used for strength training because this is the most efficient piece of equipment anywhere for building strength quickly, hence its inclusion in the best golf fitness workout routines.

The idea is to never lift heavy weights for long periods of time. Rather the goal is to condition and strengthen golf muscles using lighter weights lifted for very short periods of time.

If you’re not too old or too young to play golf, golf fitness workouts are for you.
