How about some basics? Professional basketball in the US is called the National Basketball Association (also known as the NBA). The NBA has the best teams, which have the best players, like Lebron James and Kevin Garnett. These teams are separated by East or West. In the East you have the Atlantic, Central and Northeast divisions. The West has the Southwest, Northwest, and Pacific divisions. The best players play in the Olympic Games.

Some of the best teams are the Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bulls, the Detroit Pistons, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Feats accomplished by the Los Angeles Lakers would include their record playoff win rate of .937 in 2000-2001. Everyone probably knows Kobe Bryant, who plays for them. Some of the best players are Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Rick Barry, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, Lebron James, George Mikan, and Julius Erving. All these players are really amazing.

The NBA also cares about sickness, disease, homelessness, etc. His foundation is called NBA Cares (you would never have guessed). They have donated 100 million dollars to charity. They have provided a million hours of service to the community. NBA Cares has also created 250 places for children and families to play, learn or live. This association has worked with many other large foundations such as UNICEF. For more information, visit www.NBA.com.
