The importance of your own brand

The own brand (and the entire “You, Inc.” business model) will take your MLM business to a whole new level if done the right way. This could mean the difference between 5 leads entering per month and 50 (or more) leads entering PER DAY.

Private label vs. Replicated websites

Let’s say you joined this great MLM company and you’re really excited. You pay the enrollment fee, get your little reseller kit, and set up on autoship. The products are great, the sales pages are great, and you’re good to go! So you set up your little replicated company website like a cookie cutter and start promoting like a beast.

Your site begins to receive visits. And the sales page is great, so it generates a LOT of interest. But, because people don’t often buy something the first time they see it, these people decide to go online and do a little research on their business. So they go to Google, type in the company name, hit search, and guess what happens next. If I did my homework right and applied the correct private label principles, my personal website (or an article directed to my personal website) will appear on the first page of Google. And I can guarantee you these things about my site:

• My site is not a replicated company site;
• My site has my name plastered all over it;
• My site has very useful information that these people can really use; and
• My site has free training tools that anyone can sign up for.

My site starts building a relationship the moment someone gets there. And the great thing about this is that I don’t even have to be a distributor for your company to take over your business. I just do some kind of business review on your business and get it on the first page of Google to get their attention. This is what self-branding is all about: promoting YOURSELF as someone who CAN PROVIDE VALUE to others. Ok so who do you think the business will finally run after the research has been done? Trust me because this is how your own brand works through attraction marketing. You, Inc. is what you need to promote, not your business. The business will come later (almost guaranteed) if you offer something of value and really help people.

Own brand test

Get online and research all the major leaders in this industry and you will see that they have their own site with their own names. And I can guarantee you that they are gaining clues. They didn’t get there by using the company’s replicated sites. They made a name for themselves. They stood out and positioned themselves as leaders. And as you position yourself as a leader, people will want to follow you. They will want some of what you have.

Your first business thing today should be getting rid of your little replicated and molded website. If you don’t start implementing your own brand in your business now, all your work will be wasted and will inevitably go to someone else’s hands. Trust me, there are a lot of people who trust that and expect those free leads. Don’t leave them!
