6 threats this nation continues to endure, from within!
Studying history teaches us, at one time or another, almost all nations faced crises and other threats, both internal and external. The state of this nation today is similar to how we face foreigners, external threats, of those, who seek to harm the United States and / or our way of life. Yet today, perhaps more, than ever, in recent memory, the greatest threat, to this great country, is from within! We are living, in troubling times, where, for many, there seems to be some kind of concerted effort to do serious harm or turn things around to benefit a few at the expense of far … too many! With this in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review and discuss 6 potentially serious threats that we continue to suffer / face from within.
1. Conspiracy theories: We have had tabloids and other vehicles that, in the past, have, stretched – the – truth, and created, what we mean, like, sensationalism! However, in recent times, we have witnessed many more conspiracy theories than ever before in recent memory. QAnon, and others, acquaintances, conspiracy theorists, have made statements, which, their followers, etc., continue, to believe, in a series of statements, which appear to differ significantly from the actual facts / reality. We are all entitled to our own opinions, but not to our own set of facts!
two. The great lie: We have never witnessed such a concerted attempt to challenge the results of a presidential election! There are ways in which one can, legally and officially, challenge the results, if they have a cause, but, even after more than 60 court cases and numerous counts, which indicated that there were no significant irregularities in that election, former president. Trump and his leading supporters continue to articulate the Big Lie, claiming that he won. When you lose the popular vote, by more than 7 million votes, and the Electoral College, by a significant margin, shouldn’t it be time to move on?
3. Polarization: Perhaps the greatest obstacle to getting things needed, accomplished / accomplished, in a well-considered manner, is striving for polarization when the nation needs something to try toward a meeting of minds. , For the greater good! When Republicans seem to continue to support Trump’s version of the alternate reality and emphasize, obstruct, rather than serve, we all suffer!
Four. Electoral / political process / system: We suffer, when citizens do not believe, in the viability and value of our electoral / electoral system, and the significance, of our political process, and. Especially politicians! An essential part of maintaining our form of democratic republic, of government, is to ensure our citizens, their viability and value.
5. Public health / vaccinations: From many points of view, this horrible pandemic has been deadly and damaging to the health and well-being of our citizens, society and the nation at large. When the former president downplayed the danger and equated it with economic challenges, he raised public health concerns, he hurt us! Many of them refuse to be vaccinated, they threaten us, all of us, because it makes, overcoming the pandemic and taking advantage of herd immunity, worse! This is a continuation of the anti-masks, philosophies / protests, that we witnessed, in an earlier stage, of the virus, etc.!
6. Safe Gun Safety / Controls: Some oppose any controls / limits, on gun ownership / use, wrapping – themselves, around, what they say, it’s their Second Amendment Rights! In fact, constitutional historians / experts claim that part of the Constitution referred to the rights of a state to have and maintain its own state militia, to protect itself against potential foreign threats! How many more must die before some kind of healthy gun safety controls are put in place? We register cars and licensed drivers, but some want us to stop any attempt to limit gun ownership – anyway! Does anyone really believe that the licensing, registration and limitation of certain types of weapons (such as assault weapons) violates rights? Shouldn’t Public Safety Matter?
