Brad Morehouse flew his L-39 in the aviation history books and flew like flying was all that mattered. Brad lived his life on the edge when he was running and he lived every minute on the edge. He and his team, the “Jet Class” air racing team, intended to be the top contender in the 2007 Reno Air Races, unfortunately, as with all high-stakes sports, complications arose when a jet crossed their path and flew the jet wash at incredible speed. speed.

His plane flipped to the right and to the left as he tried to recover, and for a split second it looked like he had leveled the wings and recovered and then the plane banked to the left, he went out of flight and hit the desert grass almost to the left. maximum running speed; 400 to 500 knots, he died instantly. The wake turbulence was too much for the aircraft to stay airborne and that ended the life of a true racer and aviation enthusiast, lover of life and jet race pilot.

Brad was from Wyoming and loved to fly, his racing team had worked hard to prepare for the race and he was no longer a rookie to the Reno Air Races. Brad was well known in aviation circles from Oshkosh Wisconsin to Reno, Nevada. It was a sad day at the 2007 Reno Air Races and the Jet Races are spectacular to watch, although after that it wasn’t worth it as aviation lost one of their own. What a truly wonderful person he was, but aviation history will not forget him.
