Why a Forum?

I have been creating websites for over 15 years! I have created a variety of different types of websites, including blogs, content management sites, social networks, social bookmarking sites, static websites, and others. In my experience, I’ve found that message boards are the best types of sites to build out of all the others. There are many reasons for this too.

Exercise

A forum consists of members posting new topics and replies and discussions. You can keep your forum quite active with daily membership activities, new discussions, and great topics. Once you can activate your forum and expect to log in every day with new topics and discussions, it will become a great pleasure for you. A forum is one of the best types of websites to determine how many people are using the website.

challenge

Managing a forum is not easy! Today, anyone can create a website with just a few clicks. They use an easy site builder on a free hosting service and then see themselves as an instant webmaster. In the old days, you had to create code and fix bugs to get everything working. It has become very easy to create a website these days. However, with forums, there is still the challenge of getting active members, getting members to post, and getting that “big board” status that most forum owners want to see. There are a lot of trial and error methods when trying to get your forum up and running. Personally, I love the challenge it presents me with because it makes me think and makes me work towards it feeling like I’ve actually achieved something in the end.

Friendship

Once you have those active members on your forum, you can easily develop a friendship with them. I seek to make each member of my forum a friend. Once they become great friends, they will want to associate with you more and will therefore visit your forum again in the future so that they can be close to you. Building friendships is one of the best methods of gaining active members on your forum.

skills

A forum is a challenge as I said above! The challenge allows your brain to be active and develops your skills. After running a forum seriously, you will gain all kinds of skills. You will gain administration skills by having to manage members, staff, and enforce the rules on your forum. You will gain marketing skills by having to promote your forum to get more members. You will gain knowledge of the niche your forum is about after making sure that unique content is always available on it. There are many skills you will get better at running a message board.

This is why I choose to run a FORUM!
