Your Subconscious Programming and the Law of Attraction

If you’ve been trying to apply the Law of Attraction to change something in your life, but haven’t gotten the results you want, it’s likely that your subconscious programming has gotten in the way.

Your mind is made up of two parts: your conscious mind, which is basically everything that you are aware of (what we think of as the reasoning and thinking mind), and your subconscious, which is all the mental activity that is below or outside the conscious mind. awareness. consciousness (which includes memories, beliefs, values, emotions, intuition and all automatic processes in the body that we are not aware of, such as breathing, digestion, elimination, muscle contraction and relaxation, etc.).

When you are born, your subconscious is like an empty sponge ready to be filled with feedback from your environment and the people around you. From birth to around age eight, a child’s subconscious acquires the beliefs and values of the important people in his or her life: parents, older siblings, aunts, uncles, teachers, religious leaders, and even much-watched television personalities. . without filtering or examining the truth or relevance.

At the same time, the child also continuously makes decisions about the world and his place in it based on what is happening around him, which then also become beliefs stored in the subconscious. So, for example, if he was born into a loving home where all his needs were instantly met, his subconscious would probably have formed beliefs that ‘I’m adorable, the world is safe and supportive, and they always provide“.

On the other hand, if you were born into a home where your parents were sometimes stressed and arguing, and your needs were sometimes met and sometimes not, your subconscious would likely have formed beliefs like “I’m only loved when… (conditional love), the world is scary and unsupportive and doesn’t provide for me or only provides for me when… (i.e. I’m good enough, cute enough, calm enough, smart enough, etc.)“.

All of these early decisions and unconditional acceptance of others’ beliefs and values form the subconscious programming that becomes the filters through which the child, and later the adult, sees and experiences the world. So if you have a subconscious belief that money is hard to come byThat will be your experience of the world. You won’t notice money opportunities more easily, you won’t be attracted to or suspicious of jobs that aren’t “difficult.” He probably wouldn’t even notice, and therefore walk by, a $100 bill lying on the sidewalk, all because his subconscious programming has trained him not to see what doesn’t fit into his worldview.

This happens because of the way the mind is structured. As long as you’re not using your conscious mind to direct your thoughts, learn something new, or handle complex tasks; your subconscious mind automatically takes control, like a faithful servant. As soon as the conscious mind masters a task, say driving a car, it passes it on to the subconscious mind, which will reproduce the pattern when necessary, in this case when traffic and road conditions are safe, we We’ll put it on autopilot. and perhaps even arrive at our destination without being aware of how we got there, or return to consciousness at some point in the journey and not be entirely sure where we are until we pass the next familiar milestone. We seamlessly slip between the conscious and subconscious mind hundreds of times a day.

This slippage between the conscious and the subconscious is also why it can be so difficult to carry out decisions like starting an exercise program or quitting smoking because as soon as your conscious mind stops focusing on the new goal, your mind subconscious will direct your behaviors backwards. to the old established clothing.

While the subconscious is great at handling all of those tasks for which we no longer need full awareness, it’s also an excellent multi-tasker, replaying all of your previous programming in an almost constant loop, in the background, including debilitating beliefs that aren’t anymore. it is not relevant or useful. Scientists estimate that 94-98% of all thoughts, on average, arise from the subconscious mind, and due to the looping effect, more than 90% of the thoughts you think today will be the same ones you had. yesterday, and the day before yesterday, and the day before yesterday, which most likely means that the life you are creating tomorrow will be exactly the same as today.

This is why people get disappointed when they first start using the Law of Attraction and don’t see immediate results. The Law of Attraction responds to our vibrations 24/7 and our conscious mind, even with the best of intentions and a superhuman level of focus, may only influence as much as 10% of your thoughts and , therefore, of its vibrations. So if your subconscious programming supports your Law of Attraction efforts, you’ll see results, fast! However, if your subconscious programming is disempowering and out of alignment with your desires, your vibrations in relation to that desire will work against you and your results will be patchy at best and perhaps even non-existent in the short term.

So if you’re not getting the results you want with the Law of Attraction, don’t blame yourself, it’s the way it’s designed. But, before you get ready to give up and say “no good i will always be a slave to my subconscious programming“, there are ways to change your subconscious beliefs and there are many ways to do it.

I don’t think there is one method that fits all – we are all individuals and what suits one may not be suitable for another. However, based on my experiences, these are the best ways to change your subconscious programming:

  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and its more complicated cousin TFT (Thought Field Therapy)
  • NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
  • Hypnosis
  • Kinesiology and other energy therapies
  • Meditation – stops mental chatter and allows you to access the subconscious mind
  • Visualization – Repetition of a powerful image will gradually change subconscious beliefs
  • Affirmations: expressed in such a way that they do not oppose existing belief, so instead of “I am thin“that the mind knows not to be true, prove”I am in the process of losing weight“which is much easier for the mind to accept
  • Challenging beliefs as they arise through psychological techniques such as rational emotive therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Experiment with what works best for you, and no matter which technique you choose, persistence will be the key to success.
