Let’s learn how to bake chicken

Chicken is the main meat in the diet of most meat eaters, as it is cheaper than other types of meats and can be cooked with many different techniques. Frying is possibly the most recognized technique of all for cooking chicken; however, there are others such as broiling, shaking, broiling, and baking.

Especially for a person conscious of the fat and cholesterol that fried chicken can contain, these other ways are really good alternatives, but the one we will mainly talk about is baking.

Tools needed

Paper towel

Sharp knife (optional)

Baking pan / roasting pan

Oven

Meat thermometer

Required materials

Whole chicken cut into smaller pieces / chicken breasts

Salt

Pepper

Fresh or dried herbs (oregano, thyme, tarragon, or rosemary)

Olive oil

Marinade (optional)

Seasoning of your choice

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit; if you are using a whole chicken, scoop the giblets into the inner cavity and then wash the chicken thoroughly with water. If you choose to cut the chicken into smaller pieces, do so now with a sharp knife; after that, pat the chicken dry with a paper towel and season the chicken well with salt, pepper, herbs, and any other seasonings you like.

Place the chicken inside the baking dish / roasting pan and clean with olive oil and marinade (if you choose to use it). Also, you can add the herbs of your choice to the top of the chicken for added flavor and garnishes.

Place baking dish / roasting pan in oven with chicken and expose; Bake the chicken at 350 degrees for 1 hour and a half or until golden and fully cooked.

To make sure meat is done, insert meat thermometer into thickest part of chicken; If the temperature shows 170 degrees or more, then the chicken can be removed from the oven. Another way to confirm if the chicken is done is to use a sharp knife and cut through the thickest part of the chicken; if it is cooked, the meat will not be pink and the juices that run out of the chicken will be clear.

Now you can share the chicken on its own or with whatever you choose; If you used a whole chicken, let it cool for 10 minutes before cutting. For a complete meal, serve alongside rice or mashed potatoes and peas or corn.

Tips and Warnings

It is vitally important that the chicken is well cooked before eating it, undercooked chicken can cause food poisoning and deadly parasites.

Be sure to clean any surface the raw chicken touches, including your hands, to avoid contaminating other foods and items with any bacteria that may be on the chicken; Soap and water will often suffice, but you can use a bleach solution or some other cleaning agent with water to ensure a thorough cleaning.

To cut the rawness of the chicken, cut a lemon in half and rub it all over the chicken before cooking; You can also rub the chicken with vinegar, inside and out if it is a whole chicken. If you don’t mind the extra acidity you can just leave it as is, if you mind just rinse the chicken again.
