Who makes the best acoustic guitars?

So the question of the day is… Who makes the best acoustic guitars? Since this topic is very opinionated and subjective, I will do my best to give you my own full take on the subject and provide you with the reasons why I believe these things.

There are many different answers to the question of who makes the best acoustic guitars, but the first name on almost everyone’s list is CF Martin. CF Martin has been making modern acoustic guitars since 1833. They are the standard beacon for anyone interested in a high-end instrument. Nearly all of their guitars are factory built, but they still adhere to the same quality control standards they’re famous for. You really can’t go wrong with a Martin. In fact, I have gone to the right many times. They are excellent instruments.

There are several other companies that compete in the field, such as Collings, Santa Cruz, Lakewood, Breedlove, and others. These companies tend to be more “niche-oriented” for certain types of players and don’t have the broad spectrum of appeal that Martin does.

So if you are someone interested in getting a quality guitar for less, CF Martin is highly recommended. However, if you are looking for that special instrument to suit your every whim, then the other companies might be worth exploring. They all offer superior design and quality (along with a high price too: $1,500 – $13,000).

I guess a good way to look at it is this: Martin is a good base Porsche, and the others are specialized Lamborghini, Ferrari and Buggatti, and so on. All beautiful, but different attractions.
