Is this all there is or is there more to come?

Take a look at the world around you. Do you think God’s plan is to just let things continue as they are?

Watch the news and watch the story. We see that the same cycle continues over and over again. Every day, for thousands of years, people are being born into a world full of evil, sin, corruption, and death.

There are some who believe that the kingdom of God has already come and is established. If that is the case, can we really say that the world is very different after his arrival? What has changed? The cycle continues. Children are born to face a world of hardship, affliction, pain, hunger, heartache, illness, disease, and ultimately death. Since the time of Adam and Eve, death has continued to advance.

Some say the reason the world hasn’t changed is because people aren’t doing their part. Some say that if we all just followed the teachings of Christ, everything would be different.

Although I believe that the world would be a better place if every man, woman and child sought to follow Christ and love one another to the best of their ability… And I believe we would see beautiful fruits as a result, such as decreased hunger and an end to war, we would still have a big problem. That problem is death. As obvious as it sounds, I think many people miss that fact.

Think about it. Even if we all decide to be as Christian as possible in our interactions with one another… Even if we all decide to eat right, exercise, and take our vitamins… Even if we all believe that Christ died for our sins. .. Guess what? Time would continue to march on, each of us would age, our bodies would start to wear out, we would get sick and finally die.

Something has to change! Something else has to happen.

Just as death entered creation, it is necessary to eliminate it! These mortal bodies that we use must go through a transformation and that is exactly what the Apostle Paul tells us will happen one day.

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the final trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will rise. incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-53)

Praise God that we can live with the hope that one day there will be no more death, no more sadness, no more sickness, no more pain! Praise God that at some point we will all be changed.
