Yuck! How do I get rid of these wrinkles?

The reality is that nobody likes getting old. As we age, our skin loses its flexibility and becomes more rigid, which results in wrinkles.

Obviously, there are a multitude of variables that determine the degree to which our skin wrinkles, chief among those variables being our genes. there is not much we can do with our genes. Some of us just age more gracefully.

Regardless of how we age, we all prefer to look younger, which usually makes us feel better about ourselves as well.

I, for example, have been lucky enough to look younger than I am. Which I hope was because of my appearance and not my behavior. As a younger person, this often hampered me. Now that I’m older, my youthful appearance is working in my favor, as I don’t look my age at all.

Clearly, some people age more gracefully than others. For everyone else, there is quality anti-aging skin care.

A topical cream can be used to treat specific areas of concern. People with a history of smoking tend to have more wrinkles around the mouth and eyes, while a person who has experienced significant sun exposure may wrinkle prematurely.

In both cases, a skin care cream can be applied to the targeted areas to help smooth out those wrinkles and improve the health of the affected skin.

Using skin care products is a great way to improve the health, look, and feel of your skin. But there are other things you can and should do to improve the health of your skin.

Smoking has a detrimental effect on the skin. If you don’t smoke, please don’t start, and if you are already a smoker, the sooner you can quit the better.

Drinking plenty of water is also tremendously beneficial. Remember, the human body is made up of an average of 50-75% water. The skin is the bigger organ of the body. There are approximately 3,000 square inches of skin, weighing about 6 pounds and covering a 120-pound individual! Water is essential to maintain the organ! Drinking water not only keeps your skin healthy, it helps your skin retain its elasticity, which is essential for reducing wrinkles.

Try to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. If you must be out in the sun for an extended period of time, plan to wear a hat, loose-fitting clothing designed to block the sun’s ultraviolet rays, and use sunscreen. The sun’s rays have always had the potential to damage the skin, but with the depletion of the ozone layer, the sun’s rays are even more intense and dangerous today. Children, especially, are vulnerable to sun damage to their skin.

Minimizing sun exposure will not only improve the health of your skin, it will also reduce your risk of skin cancer. A nice bonus!

You obviously need vitamin D, so normal exposure to sunlight is acceptable. But, you really should try to keep the exposure to short doses. And, you can always take vitamin D as a supplement if you feel like you’re not getting enough sun exposure, especially during the winter months.

Personally, I try to follow a protocol of reduced sun exposure. But I recognize that my daily activities will likely expose me to the sun. I try to mitigate that by following the suggestions mentioned above. For example, if I know I’m going to be driving a bit, I put sunscreen on my arms, face, and neck.

When reviewing anti aging skin care products, do your due diligence. Simply buying the most expensive and highly marketed product is not always the best course of action. In fact, some of the most expensive products made by well-known companies are some of the worst products available for your skin.

From a logical point of view, you should ask yourself: if the manufacturer spends so much on marketing, how much does it spend on research and development? Also, how much is the celebrity being paid to endorse the product and how does that endorsement affect the price?

When considering skin care products of any kind, look carefully at the ingredient. If you see ingredients like parabens, allergens, and fragrances, keep looking! remember that the skin absorbs 60% of what touches it.

Ingredients you’ll want to see in an anti-aging skin care cream are: Phytessence Wakame, which is derived from Japanese seaweed and helps your skin naturally retain its elasticity; Nanobelle CoenzymeQ10 that penetrates up to 7 skin levels to produce spectacular results; and Xtend-TK, which has been shown to reduce wrinkles.

A quality skincare product will refresh your skin, naturally from the inside out, making you look and feel younger and more vibrant!
