How to Have a Guilt-Free Bachelor Party

Bachelor parties are legendary. The guys have had them for years and the girls have had quite a bit of fun. The problem is that the boys do not know the borders and that is what gets them in trouble all the time.

Here are some guidelines for having a memorable bachelor party that isn’t boring, but will keep you out of the doghouse:

-The most important role of the best man or the wedding party in general is that the Groom has a great time. That is the overall goal and should be kept in mind when planning the event. After all, it’s about him and if he didn’t get married, you’d be sitting at home drinking beer. So keep in mind the likes and dislikes of it. If you force him to do things that are out of his comfort zone, he will feel miserable and the tone of the party will be less pleasant.

-It’s a win-win for everyone involved – don’t screw it up. It’s a lot of pressure to plan a bachelor party that isn’t predictable AND doesn’t cost a lot of money. Some parties are for one night, others can spill over into a weekend trip. Either way, do your research and have a game plan. Don’t plan the party the day before and DEFINITELY don’t have a bachelor party the night before the wedding. That’s not common these days for obvious reasons.

Clean Fun, no one gets hurt, no one gets into serious trouble. Going to jail or getting physically hurt is not what he had in mind. Boys need to take care of each other. That doesn’t mean you have to be Mr. Safety Patrol and wear a neon yellow vest, but common sense tends to go out the window. Don’t forget to exercise caution, especially if you’re already on probation or don’t have health insurance.

It shouldn’t upset the wife. So you are not married or in a committed relationship. You may have nothing to lose, but this isn’t about you, so get over it. There are feelings and emotions involved, no matter how you try to sugarcoat it. Women get their feelings hurt and men can end up hurting someone they care deeply about. So it’s not worth a night of fun to ruin your future. If you’re married, don’t take off your wedding ring (hopefully you wear it, right?) and be honest with your wife about what happened without giving her all the details. You have to realize that some idiot is going to tell someone the beans and word will spread about what happened, but you don’t have to be such an idiot.

It’s about the stories. This party will last beyond one night or weekend. You are creating memories that you will reflect on for years to come. Guys always love to reminisce about their holidays and reminisce about the good times. It’s a big deal, and as the years go by, the stories may change a bit due to memory loss, but it’s still memorable!
